The Board of Trustees of the National Museum of the Royal Navy is seeking to appoint up to 4 new Trustees with effect from 24th October 2012.

Applicants should have a demonstrable interest in the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, their Reserves and Auxiliaries and an awareness of the contemporary role of a National Museum.

Experience is especially desirable in the disciplines of the Higher Management of Defence, Fundraising and Development, Business and Media and PR. The position involves approximately 10 days of work per year, which will include attendance at Trustees' and Committee Meetings and National Museum events, principally but not exclusively at the National Museum's Headquarters in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

The initial appointment will be for a period of five years.

These positions are unpaid, although reasonable expenses incurred on museum business will be reimbursed.
