Councillor BAME Women 2009/10

The objective of the National BAME Women's Councillor Shadowing Scheme is to improve the representation of Black and other ethnic minority (BAME) women within the democratic system. In partnership with the Government Equalities Office (GEO), the Scheme will build upon the work of the Ethnic Minority Women Councillor's Taskforce. The cross party BAME Women Councillors' Taskforce has been set up to help make local councils more representative of the community. Members are women from a wide range of backgrounds and experience from across the country.
