Prince Charles talks about empowerment with Simon Woolley |

At the launch of the 2002 Golden Jubilee, String of Pearls, hosted by Prince Charles at his St James Palace residence, the Prince of Wales chatted with OBV's national Co-ordinator Simon Woolley.

Simon Woolley stated:
I was explaining the work of OBV to the Prince, explaining that our work is to encourage and inspire Black communities to play a full and positive role within the UK's democratic process'. Prince Charles stated:
'You have a tough challenge. Unfortunately, there is a lot of cynicism out there, particularly amongst the young. We try our best with the Trust, (Princes Trust) to empower as many as possible.' Woolley added:
'I am pleased that the Prince has taken a keen interest in our work and its objectives. Since this encounter it looks very likely that the Prince's Trust and OBV will collaborate on future projects'.
