Labour MP for Birmingham, Perry Barr. Entered Parliament on 7 June 2001 - General election. Khalid Mahmood won the election with a majority of over eight thousand votes. His earlier political career includes being a member of the Birmingham City Council, as well as Chair of Race Relations.
