Jyoti Bhojani: From OBV volunteer to Former Prime Minister’s assistant

When Jyoti Bhojani joined OBV as a volunteer, none of us would have guessed that in three short years she would go from enthusiastic volunteer to a ‘stand out’ candidate to become Parliamentary assistant  to Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

What as never been in doubt has been passion and determination that Bhojani had to learn every thing that was thrown at her, to do any job well, but above all to care about implementing social and racial justice. From being a volunteer we employed her to play a central role organising our successful MP Shadowing schemes over a two year period. And like all the OBV team, her multiple roles here also included helping out on our big events.

She now takes her skills to another arena working directly for Gordon Brown in his Westminster parliamentary office. Although the former PM no longer runs the country he has just been given a very senior role at the United Nations.

For us at OBV, it gives us great pride to see one of our team develop and progress in such a positive way. Sure in the fact that the link between her, the organisation and the community remains strong and resolute.

Well done Jyoti and good luck.
