Suarez: 'A disgrace to Liverpool football'
An incensed Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said that Liverpool's Luis Suarez could have caused a riot by refusing to shake hands with the man he repeatedly racially abused during their last encounter.
In an already very tense and contentious football cauldron, Manchester United captain Patrice Evra tried to take some heat out of the situation by shaking hands with Suarez at the start of today's game. Suarez refused, Evra pulled his arm to insist but Suarez pulled away. In a show of solidarity Rio Ferdinand who's brother is also embroiled in a race row with John Terry, declined to shake Suarez's hand.
An already bad situation was made infinitely worse. After the game the Manchester United manager said he couldn't believe it, branding Suarez a ' disgrace to Liverpool football club'. Clearly very upset, he continued ,'he should never play for Liverpool again'.
With more than 20% of all premiership players classed as Black, English football is in a crisis. Fabio Capello the former England manager found himself in an untenable position after publicly denouncing the FA's decision to strip John Terry of the captaincy whilst he fights to clear charges of racial abuse.
Today's incident at Old Trafford will only make the situation much worse.
Liverpool's Luis Suarez has shamed himself, Liverpool FC and the game itself.

Apology, really?
The behaviour of Suarez and his manager only adds to the already common belief a mongst most ordinary black people that whereas black people is concerned do as you like. The only reason for their apology is because of the pressure put on them by the clubs American owners. Saturday evening you have an Asian man on channel 4 news defending the actions of Suarez and the manager. You look at most football matches and the crowds, hardly any blacks. Plenty of black players. All black people, and i mean black skinned people should boycott these events and plenty more until they start to recognise that we are here and have as much right as any other human being regardless of our skin colour. As for some Asians and i dare say blacks aswell, you all need to check yourselves and realize what was meant by the controversial comment made by Dianne Abbot. David Cameron said recently that there are pockets of society that are sick and think that the world ows them. Let me just also add to that Mr Cameron and tell you that there and certain sections of this same society that you speak about that believe in their hearts of hearts that black people are second class citizens and should be treated as such and never be allowed to be included in main steam society in any form, in particular black Africans and afro Caribbean.
Evra Saga.
Sir Alex Ferguson said one thing too many after the Liverpool/Man. United match; including the assertion that Suarez could have caused a riot. I watched it and saw no evidence of Suarez causing a riot; however, Patrice Evra almost did. Thanks to the quick thinking and intervention by the match officials to curtail his attempt at stirring up fervour amongst the crowd.
The hand shaking moment is open to debate in my view. Whether you would like to shake the hand of a person you were in dispute with with tensions still very high is another matter entirely. The idea of a hand shake for this match was a daft one indeed. It makes you wonder what Sepp Blatter must have been thinking after seeing all involved in the decision making for this match finally adopting his idea of racial harmony after initially condemning it.
A lot has been said and written about Liverpool Football Club, Luis Suarez and Kenny Dalglish since the allegation was made by Evra. All bar Evra have been painted in a negative light. Luis Suarez has served an eight match ban and been fined; and quite rightly so; incurring some loss/es in the process.
The loss of Suraez services during the period of this ban has hampered Liverpool's progress in their attempt to get into the European Champions League.
How many of the football clubs in this country would have fared any better than Liverpool if put in the same position? I would be very surprised if anyone of them did. The last New Labour Government's constant tweaking of the RRA 1976 has significantly contributed to that; taking away the responsibility of an employer towards his employee.
I personally like to think that a lot has been learnt by all parties involved and concerned during this sad episode in football . The shenanigans that have since followed which were displayed on television on Saturday can hardly be blamed on Luis Suarez.
Patrice Evra made a complaint of being racially abused by Luis Suarez. His claim was investigated and the FA found in favour of him. Punishment was meted out to Suarez accordingly, and he has served it. Evra's behaviour on Saturday 11th February 2012 was disgraceful in my view. Humility after such a significant moral victory would have sufficed nicely after that match. I have to say that after his behaviour before and after that match, I developed some mistrust about him and his intentions.
