Michael Nazir-Ali

Lord Nazir-Ali was born and raised in Pakistan and joined  25 Church of England bishops in the Lords in 1999.

He attended numerous institutions of education, including Cambridge, Oxford and Australian College of Theology.

His career achievements include being Tutorial Supervisor in Theology at University of Cambridge, Priest-in-Charge at St Andrews of Akhtar Colony and Co-ordinator of Studies and Editor for the Lambeth Conference.

Lord Nazir-Ali, the former Bishop of Rochester is a member of the Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission, Board of Christian Aid, and World Council of Churches.

He received the Oxford Society Award for Graduate Studies 1972 and is the author of many publications, including Martyrs and Magistrates: toleration and trial in Islam, and Shapes of the Church to Come.

He is married to Valerie Cree and they have two sons together.
