Patricia Janet Scotland

She was educated at London University, where she earned an LLB and is married to Richard Mawhinney with two sons.

Her career accomplishments include being a member of the Antigua Bar and within the House of Lords, she is the Parliamentary Secretary in the Lord Chancellor's Department.

Baroness Scotland is also a government spokesperson on Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Law Officers, and is a former member of the Commission for Racial Equality.

She is an honorary fellow at Wolfson College, Cambridge and Cardiff University.
