Kiran’s experience of working in the community spans over 40 years. Her interest in community development started whilst she was at Middlesex University in the 80s where she undertook a Social Science degree.

Kiran has worked for Westminster, Hackney and Harrow Councils in various roles from Advice and Information Officer, Race Equality Officer (Home Office Race and Voting Rights Campaign) to Racial Harassment Co-ordinator.

Kiran moved to Leicester in 2000 and spent 11 years at Connexions as External Project Manager. She currently works at the Emerald Centre, an independent charity based in Leicester, primarily funded by the Irish Government to serve the welfare and social needs of communities, whilst focusing on members of the Irish Diaspora.
