Programme Summary
The Westminster Civic Leadership Programme launched on February 12th, 2024, at the Lord Mayor’s Parlour, following a two-month recruitment process. Of 34 selected participants, 30 actively engaged in the programme, though some requested excusal from certain sessions due to scheduling conflicts.

The first session was an anti-racism masterclass led by Carol Cooper, who also conducted a March 6th seminar on local government, followed by participants observing a Full Councillors Meeting. On March 12th, a criminal justice seminar was led by Magistrates Dawn Gibbons JP and Sarah Sawyer JP, with a court observation on March 27th.

Subsequent sessions included an April 17th masterclass on political language and diplomacy, an April 30th seminar on the UK education system by Cheron Byfield, and a July observation of a School Governors Meeting. The final session, held on May 29th, focused on NHS governance and concluded with an NHS Board Meeting observation on July 31st.

Award Ceremony and Recognition
The programme concluded with an award ceremony to celebrate participants' achievements and dedication. This event acknowledged their progress in civic leadership and reinforced their commitment to applying their new skills within their communities.

The ceremony inspired both participants and guests, with some expressing interest in joining future cohorts. Public recognition not only motivates participants but also highlights the programme’s broader impact, encouraging continued civic engagement.
